Jobing Description

430112-Laundry Attendant

Works various assignments in Laundry production. Assignments include sorting soiled laundry, operating flat iron machine and folding and distributing clean laundry. Employees work as a team to maintain high production standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operates flat iron and feeder
  • Inspects linen for tears or stains
  • Sorts linen, removing towels from sheets
  • Practices safety regulations
  • Counts and stacks linen
  • Folds various laundry items
  • Weighs linen

Marginal Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following.
  • Assists in other areas of the Laundry

Skills / Requirements

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); No specific experience required.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
