JOB BRIEF

The purpose of Technology Architecture Director is to actively guide the realization of a set of globally integrated information resources that enable Compassion International to meet its ministry objectives. Collaborates with business and IT stakeholders to help ensure that business and IT projects achieve both local and organization wide business application requirements. Provides the necessary leadership required for the development of and implementation of technology strategies, policies, principles and frameworks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.
Acts as an advocate for children
- raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one's influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
Understands, advocates, and augments technology principles that enable the creation of flexible applications that can evolve to meet emerging business requirements.
Analyzes the enterprise business context (trends and business strategy) to derive technical architecture.
Analyzes the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
Consults on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the technical architecture, and identifies when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate project needs.
Analyzes technology industry and market trends, to determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
Assists with the governance activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance.
Creates an effective learning environment through coaching and mentoring partnerships with IT technical architects.

FUNCTIONAL JOB COMPETENCIES

1. Experienced in a broad range of IT disciplines with an emphasis on the modeling of an integration of enterprise-scale systems.


2. Experienced in leading the development of service or object oriented architectures.


3. Experienced in the design and implementation of integrated information management architectures.


4. Ability to lead toward the long-term ("big picture") by creating roadmaps and implementation plans that account for the short-term perspectives of situations.


5. Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, with an emphasis in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, negotiation and group communications (large and small).


6. Excellent analytical and technical skills.


7. Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems and estimate financial impacts of technical architecture alternatives.


8. Ability to quickly comprehend the functions, capabilities, and relevance of new technologies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

1. Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.


2. Bachelor degree in computer science, systems analysis, or related study.


3. 7+ years of experience leading the design and implementation of object oriented or service-oriented architectures
