Overview:
East Morgan County Hospital (EMCH) in Brush, Colorado, is a critical access facility providing a full array of health care services. The hospital features a Level IV Trauma Center; an attached physicians' and general surgeons' clinics, Brush Family Medicine; a visiting specialists' clinic; and the Alonzo Petteys Rehabilitation Center, which offers a complete range of rehab services including a warm-water therapy pool. EMCH has completed three phases of a four-phase remodel project, with the last phase, the surgery suite, scheduled to begin in early 2010.

Previous phases included remodeling the emergency room, and nurses' station, expanding laboratory and medical imaging departments, the addition of the Brush Family Medicine clinic, relocation of the Physician Specialty Clinic, and remodeling of the admissions area, hospital lobby and gift shop. Other recent projects included adding an out-patient surgical suite for the general surgeons and expanding the pharmacy, as well as updating the chapel.

Responsibilities:
Pay opportunity $10.69 - $13.88 -$17.08

The Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical duties, such as assisting the provider with patient care by preparing the patient for exams and procedures. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for some patient education, completing referral forms, communicating with pharmacies and patients by phone and scheduling outpatient testing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires knowledge of medical terminology, general insurance processes, and general billing/coding processes.
Must demonstrate proficiency in clinical areas of patient care.
CPR certification is required.
Requires High School diploma or GED.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred or previous clinical experience.
Experience with phlebotomy and injections preferred.
