GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The City of Arvada operates
a banquet and conference center at the Arvada Center for
Arts and Humanities.
Banquet Set up staff are responsible for the cleaning,
setting and maintenance of the Banquet area. Banquet
Servers ensure customer satisfaction through providing
the best possible service standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Banquet Set up is responsible
for set up of tables, china, staging, audiovisual
equipment according to the catering rider; assist as
needed during events; maintain clean and organized work
area; clean and maintain banquet storage and service
areas; break down of tables, chairs and equipment afte
events; clean banquet rooms; follow closing procedures;
perform additional duties as assigned; attend meeting
and training classes.
Banquet Servers provide excellent customer service to
patrons of the banquet and conference facilities; serve
meals in a professional and timely manner; follow
guidelines given to ensure high level of service before,
during and after events; ensure meal service, coffee
breaks, and bar service are done according to policies
and standards; finalize room set up; complete proper set
prior to and after each event; side work for guest
tables; provide tableside service; keep room orderly
during events; meet needs of the client; follow closing
procedure; maintain an organized and clean work area;
perform additional duties as assigned; attend meetings
and training classes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to communicate
with others, ability to use good judgment; ability to
work independently; ability to maintain a clean and neat
appearance; ability to maintain adequate attendance;
ability to follow instructions;
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: ability to lift
and carry up to 50 pounds; ability to establish and
maintain effective working relationships with
supervisors, other employees, and the general public.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Skills / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Must be 16 years or older, previous customer service experience helpful; must have good interpersonal skills; must provide uniform of white tuxedo shirt, black bow tie and black dress pants; ability to carry service tray up to ten plates.
