Clinic Nurse

Pecos Clinic

Duties:

Assists Providers or medical team with direct patient care and case management.

Utilize nursing process; provide entry level progressing to independently performing professional nursing practice in a clinic setting.

Participate as member of health care team planning for and providing optimal patient care.

Provide safe, comfortable, therapeutic environment for patients and families.

Educate patients in procedure and technique for prevention of disease and health maintenance.

Identify changes in clinical signs and symptoms in life threatening situations and initiate appropriate measures.

Instruct patients and families regarding tests and procedures, clinic policy, and educate them regarding general health techniques and maintenance and preventive health care.

Evaluate outcome of patient care, consult with other professionals as required, adjust nursing care processes as necessary to ensure optimal patient care.

Provide nursing care support to patients during examinations, procedures and other processes.

Assist other members of the team.

Administer medications.

Assists with OSHA, CLIA and the Cancer Screening Programs.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span.

Skills / Requirements

- RN licensure from an accredited school required; RN-BSN preferred.
- Two years experience in community health preferred
- Ability to flourish in a team management system
- Sensitivity to low income, ethnic minority community
- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred.
- Ability to use computer
