Green Jobs Act Passes Committee
Help Move it Through the House

Take action to build pathways out of poverty in the emerging green economy

Thanks to all who took action last week on behalf of the Green Jobs Act of 2007 ( H.R.2847). The bill, which includes the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Worker Training Program within the Workforce Investment Act, made it out of Committee last week. Twenty percent of the program’s $125 million appropriation would be dedicated to services that create pathways out of poverty for low-income adults and youth.

We need your help to move this legislation forward. You can take action in two important ways. First, click here to ask your Representative to co-sponsor the Green Jobs Act. Then, click here to add your organization to the growing list of endorsers of H.R. 2847.

You can read the bill and see a list of endorsers on our Green Jobs Act webpage.

Because of the promise it holds, the Ella Baker Center , TWA, Center for American Progress, and the Apollo Alliance have been working together on the Green Jobs Act of 2007.
