Position Summary
Responsible for the entire clinical information system; develops and customizes computer programs for best use within the organization. Prepares, educates, and delivers technical training and support to staff on a routine and as needed basis. Provides technical management of electronic medical record systems and voice communications applications. Designs information systems to collect data that will be used for the different reporting needs of the organization. Manipulates all types of information collected by the organization to create reports that can be used to make relevant decisions.
Essential Duties
*Continuously works on improving the delivery of the healthcare system(s) by integrating information systems to serve stakeholder needs.
*Assists in the conversion of resident data into appropriate healthcare program(s)
*Serves as the liaison between Information Technology and Clinical Services.
*Provides technical support concerning the Company's Clinical Information system
*Designs, implements, and educates clinical staff on the clinical information system(s) to include any new programs and system upgrades.
*Coordinates and facilitates on-going clinical information system evaluation including: user accuracy, data integrity, system reliability and post implementation change evaluation.
*Collaborates with end-users to help define health care information problems
*Indentifies methodologies for implementing, utilizing, and modifying informatics solutions and data structures that support health care access, delivery and evaluation.
*Supports staff in the use of existing technology in a manner which promotes maintenance of resident safety and confidentiality.
*Participates in interdisciplinary process improvement teams to identify potential future uses of the information systems and potential improvements in the current use of the systems.
*Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications & Experience
*Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing, Information systems, business or closely related field preferred
*An active Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado in good standing required
*ANCC Informatics and/or Executive Certifications preferred
*Previous experience as a nurse leader for clinical projects preferred.
*Minimum of 5 years work experience as a licensed RN.
*Minimum 1 year EHR/EMR experience.
*Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
*Must possess excellent customer service skills, strong leadership and organizational skills and must be self directed.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
*Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
*Exposure to blood borne pathogens, body excretions and communicable diseases possible.
*Sits, stands, bends and moves frequently during working hours.
*Is subject to frequent interruptions.
*Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.
