Community Reach Center, a top-tier mental health provider in the northern Denver area, and the designated mental health provider for anyone eligible for Medicaid in Adams County, Colorado. We are in need of an on-call Therapist to work with our Emergency Services Team in Thornton, CO. The main duty of the on-call Therapist will be to provide a range of psychological assessments and evaluations in addition to providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or case management services for individuals, couples, groups, and/or families, on an after-hours basis. The Therapist will be responsible for provision of crisis intervention and emergency services to consumers, and will participate in the delivery of professional training sessions and workshops as appropriate.
We are looking specifically for candidates who have availability to take overnight shifts on the weekend, holidays, and/or Sundays (8p-8a) and weeknights (Monday-Friday 9p-8a).
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provides short-term therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services to consumers and families as appropriate to the position.
* Accurately triages crisis situations within a diverse, fast-paced, and high-energy environment effectively.
* Collects data about patients through interview, case history, psychological tests, and/or observational techniques; evaluates data to identify causes of problems and to determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other specialists.
* Utilizes mental health counseling principles and understands DSM-IV TR diagnoses and methodology, medical model approaches to effective crisis intervention.
* Provides and/or arranges for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for patients or clients in a crisis condition and for those with serious disturbance problems.
* Follows up to determine reliability and validity of treatment used; makes recommendations regarding modification to services and service delivery.
* Provides debriefing services when consumers, staff or community are confronted with a traumatic crisis event, profound loss and/or unresolved grief issues surface.
* Consults with other legal and treatment agencies and individuals in relation to patient/client records, rights, and responsibilities. Possesses knowledge of community referrals process and requirements for a variety of local area resources i.e., food banks, shelters, daycare, substance abuse, clothing, legal aid, and etc.
* Participates in, leads, and/or coordinates training sessions and workshops to enhance treatment skills.
* Prepares and develops treatment plans, monitors treatment progress, initiates discharge planning and outlines follow-up care at disposition times.
* Documents intervention and program activity according to Community Reach Center policies and procedures; maintains accurate and timely clinical records consistent with Corporation standards.
Skills / Requirements
Requirements:
* Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a directly related field.
* Minimum of two years experience in the mental health field.
* Professional licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LP).
* Familiarity with MS Office applications, particularly MS Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with crisis intervention, provision of intensive services, and 72-hour holds.
* Bilingual in Spanish.
