Profile: West Metro Fire Protection District

West Metro Fire Rescue employs 313 uniformed and 58 civilian personnel. Together, these dedicated employees strive to keep our community safe, and help our agency run efficiently.

West Metro's Human Resources Division strives to provide professional and quality support and guidance that enables all employees to better serve our citizens. We aim to: 

• Recruit qualified individuals;
• Retain valuable employees;
• Consult in human resource matters regarding equitable administration of compensation and benefits;
• Establish, administer, and effectively communicate sound policies and procedures;
• Train employees in human resource areas;
• Treat employees with dignity and equality while maintaining compliance with employment and labor laws, District policies, and labor agreements.
• Recognize and encourage the value of diversity in the work place.

On a daily basis Human Resources is responsible for recruitment, benefits and compensation, employment policies and procedures, risk management, employee relations, and records management.
