Profile: City of Greeley

The City of Greeley is located 50 miles north of Denver with a great view of the front range of the Rocky Mountains.   The City employs approximately 1000 full/part-time employees and over 500 hourly and seasonal employees.  These employees provide services through the operations of 13 departments.

Departments

City Manager’s Office is responsible for the overall administration of the City

City Clerk’s Office is responsible for retention of City records

City Attorney’s Office is responsible for providing legal counsel to city staff, represents the City in litigation and prosecutes cases in Municipal Court.

Community Development determines Planning, Zoning, and Building Inspection, Neighborhood Development, and Historic Preservation.

Leisure Services emcompasses three divisions: Union Colony Civic Center (performing arts), Museums, and Recreation.

Finance is responsible for sales tax collection, processing water bills, purchasing, accounting, and information technology.

Human Resources is responsible for recruitment for open positions, administers personnel policies, coordinates pay, benefits and special projects.

Municipal Court processes and resolves municipal ordinance violations in accordance with established law.

Parks is responsbile for maintenance and operation of all City-owned park facilities through operations in five divisions: Parks, Island Grove Park, Golf courses, Linn Grove Cemetery, and Forestry.

Police is responsible for public safety including patrol, investigations, Records, and Emergency Dispatch.

Public Works encompasses 8 divisions:  Administration, Streets, Traffic, Transit, Engineering, Stormwater, Equipment Maintenance, and Building Maintenance.

Water & Sewer is responsible for filtering, treating and distributing fresh drinking water and for collecting and treating of wastewater.
