We are currently seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our outstanding team.
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for: Answering inbound calls and providing customer service to all callers and making outbound calls to patients. Operate standard office equipment. Typically requires 2-3 years of in Customer Service in a medical provider billing environment. 1-2 years of previous experience in healthcare billing and/ or insurance follow-up, familiar and experienced with all phases or Revenue Cycle, Insurance Plans, Billing, Follow Up, Collections and payment plans. Fluent in English, and a preference for Spanish fluency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
OTHER - Compliance, HIPAA and Security:
- Employees acknowledge that compliance with Beacon's HIPAA, Security Rule and Compliance Plan policies and procedures as well as all other Beacon policies and procedures is a condition of employment and that any violation will result in sanctions up to and including termination based on the type and severity of the violation.
- Access to and use of Protected Health Information - security clearance which allows employees to review, investigate, and respond to questions from payors and to revise demographic and insurance information
- Security access permitted using Beacon entrances for this job category is during core hours of building management, 5 days a week.

Degree/Certification required: High school diploma
Years of experience in a particular field: Must be fluent in English. 2-3 year previous experience in Customer Service in a medical provider billing environment. 1-2 years of previous experience in healthcare billing and/ or insurance follow-up, collections, and payment plans.
Skills required: Must have excellent follow up and attention to detail. Good communication skills and ability to work with all types of individuals. Ability to read and understand insurance explanation of benefits and contractual discounts. A working knowledge of industry terminology. Data entry. Health insurance background required. Computer, calculator, fax and copier operation.
