The ASFMRA is looking for a Director of Finance and Administration in its headquarters Denver Colorado. This position is responsible for all accounting, finance, human resource, and office administration functions. Essential duties include cash management, banking and investments, financial statement preparation and review, budgeting, audit coordination, billing, payables and receivables, payroll and employee benefits administration. This position is a support and liaison to the volunteer Financial/Investment Review Committee, the Executive Council and Board of Directors. A competitive salary and strong benefit package will be awarded to the candidate selected. This position reports to the Executive Vice President.

Skills Requirements:
The individual selected will be assertive and have high-level skills in customer service, standard accounting software, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, Microsoft office including spreadsheets, charts and integration of these with data base management software, membership databases, preferably non-profit experience. The individual should have strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and accuracy while working in a fast paced, dynamic environment. A positive accomplishment oriented professional is a must. If you like a variety in your work and have a strong technical and analytical focus this job could be for you.

Education and Experience Requirements:
4-year college degree in accounting or business, CPA and/or MBA a plus. We are considering candidates with 5 to 10 years‚ experience in small office accounting. Work experience in mid-size nonprofit/association accounting is preferred. Experience in Human Resources is also preferred.

Duties:
All accounting functions through Financial Statements
Online payment reconciliations
Deferred Income and Deferred Charges management
Audits, 1099‚s and Investment recordkeeping
Insurance, benefits and personnel management
Liaison for Financial/Investment Committee and Budget committee to the Executive Council and Board of Directors

* The position is about 70% Accounting, 20% Human Resources, and 10% Administrative
