AspenPointe is a leading behavioral health care provider that has created help and hope for Southern Colorado residents for over 130 years. AspenPointe currently is made up of 5 companies and a Foundation to provide a broad range of services to meet adult and family needs, substance abuse, acute treatment, and managed care. Additionally, we provide vocational skills training and affirmative employment in: catering, design/build/construction services as well as facilities management services.

Responsible for the implementation and development of the education services program including the GED preparation and tutoring services. Works with the youth/client of the education program in providing academic support. Works in the schools, the education center and other community facilities. Responsibilities include teaching and counseling of youth/client in all phases of education support. Works with a large population of Special Needs children in the Education Center and work collaboratively with public schools in El Paso and Teller counties. Attends School Staffings and works directly with School District staff and community agencies in order to evaluate and provide options to students. Responsible for the completion of all other duties as assigned.

Skills / Requirements


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS-EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS:
' BA in Education
' Teaching certificate from Colorado Department of Education (CDE)
' Clearance through CBI

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS-EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
' Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning
' Good verbal and written communications skills, including tact and diplomacy when dealing with the public/staff and with the ability to interact with people of all ages and diverse social, economic, and education backgrounds
' 1-3 years teaching experience preferred
' Vocational Education experience preferred
' Must have demonstrated ability with program development and implementation.
' Knowledge of the principles of managed care, case management techniques and/or knowledge of Recovery
' Excellent information technology abilities including: Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, with the demonstrated ability of advanced techniques in Excel spreadsheets
' Accurately type 35+ w.p.m.
' Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
' Ability to analyze, interpret and report data at a high level
' Knowledge of the Special Education rules and regulations as required by the Colorado Department of Education.
' Valid Driver's License with clear MVR that complies with organizational insurance requirements.
