Peak Vista Community Health Centers provides exceptional healthcare to people facing access barriers.We are a private nonprofit dedicated to premier medical, dental and behavioral health services for people of all ages. We provide primary care services to residents of the Pikes Peak Region through 19 outpatient health centers and are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
The grant writer is primarily responsible for research, preparation, submission of grant applications and reporting on grant funding (corporate, foundation and government) including some budget preparation. The position assists with ensuring grant compliance of funded programs to include data tracking, collection, analysis and reporting, both external and internal. Attends and conducts planning and implementation meetings for grant funded projects. Provides account stewardship and conducts ongoing prospect research. Conducts site visits and meetings with funders related to grant projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business or related. Experience in grant writing, research and/or non-profit administration.Work Experience: Grant or technical writing, research (including use of internet), data collection, analysis and reporting, non-profit administration, and/or budget preparation .Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to understand complex issues; ability to interpret financial statements and understanding of healthcare principles. Ability to conduct data analysis. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office – including Word, Excel and Access, SharePoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer and keyboarding. Ability to learn required online submission and reporting software such as Electronic Hand Book. Knowledge of Donor Perfect recommended.
Other Skills: Innovative, detail oriented, self-confident, self-motivated and professional. Ability to develop and deliver presentations and facilitate meetings with multiple internal and community partners.Certificates & Licenses: CFRE and/or GPCI encouraged. Must have valid driver's license
Physical DemandsOccasional standing and walking, frequent long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. Looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time, hearing within normal range. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.*Successful candidates will need to complete pre-employment screening; which includes, but is not limited to a Criminal Background check.
