Job: Manufacturing Tech II - full-time nights

this position performs whole blood primary production, secondary production, distribution of blood components, and functions covered under the Central Receipt Department of Manufacturing. This position will perform visual inspections of all blood components and perform leukoreduction of red blood cell components. This position will label and organize blood components in appropriate storage areas. This position will box frozen plasma. This position will provide customer service for hospitals and other blood centers. This position participates in all applicable competency and continuing education programs.
Organizational and department specific training is provided.

This position is full-time as follows: Four, 10-hour shifts Wednesday through Saturday 9 pm to 7:30 am. Full benefits. The positions is located at our 717 Yosemite Street, Denver, CO 80230 headquarters. Salary range is $13.09 to $15.56 per hour dependent upon experience. An additional weekend and evening shift differential is paid for hours worked during those times.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing or related industry is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have an understanding of how to work with and review operating procedures. Previous knowledge of working in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred. Basic knowledge of computers and some programs (i.e. keyboarding, Word, Excel, Outlook). Manual Dexterity. Strong oral and written communications skills. Strong organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail and quality. Some technical writing skills. Ability to see the full color spectrum. Ability to work in temperature extreme environments. Ability to follow and adhere to operating procedures.

Materials and Equipment Directly Used: Production Laboratory Equipment (i.e. Centrifuges, Balances, Sterile Connecting Devices, Computer Terminals, Water Baths, Expressers, etc.). Refrigerator. Freezer. Rotators. General Office Equipment.

Work Environment and Physical Activities: Extended periods of standing. Moderate levels of visual strain. Moderate periods of time in temperature extreme environments. Moderate levels of lifting of up to 50 pounds. Flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays and other shifts.
