Dental Assistant Duties:

Assists the dentists and hygienists in chair side procedures routinely done in a general dental practice.

Responsible for preparation and setting up of instruments, materials, and equipment necessary for each procedure.

Responsible for the sterilization of instruments, and the cleaning and routine maintenance of equipment and work areas.

Schedules patients, does routine reception work, accurately records information on patient records.

Assists in implement the processing of encounters and billing and bookkeeping procedures.

Identifies related medical and/or social problems, fills out insurance forms, orders supplies and materials.

Maintains inventory of supplies and materials as well as maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of inventory.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High skill level as a dental assistant.

Demonstrate proficiency with amalgam restorations.

High School Diploma or a GED.

Required bilingual in Spanish.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at one time.

Must be friendly and outgoing and possess excellent customer service skills.

Sensitivity to low income, ethnic minority community.

Must be able to work in a team management system.
