The combined company, which will be based in Phoenix, will be named Republic Services, Inc. and will trade under the ticker symbol "RSG" on The New York Stock Exchange. As of the close of the market on December 5, 2008, Allied Waste stock was delisted and will no longer trade on NYSE. The combined company will have more than 35,000 employees serving more than 13 million customers in 40 states and Puerto Rico.

Summary – Support division financial goals; achieve sales department goals and objectives; and manage sales staff to optimize department performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop and implement strategic sales plans.
Responsible for achieving sales goals for division.
Develop and oversee sales department relating to hiring, training, coaching, goal attainment and discipline.
Coordinate internal liaison between sales department and other sales and service related areas.
Utilize both system (ASR) and other tracking tools necessary to measure individual and division sales performance.
Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Review market analyses to make appropriate sales decisions.
Direct sales forecasting activities.
Establish and assign sales territories including setting quotas and goals.
Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist reps in promoting sales.
Promote customer service standardization.
Meet with key clients; assist sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
Monitor and evaluate the activities and services of the competition.
Recommend or approve budgets and expenditures for sales related needs.
Represent company at major industry trade shows or meetings.

Skills / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing or other related field; three to five years related outside sales experience and/or training. One to two years of sales management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in leading sales staff. Performed functions of training, developing, coaching, disciplining and conducting performance reviews with subordinates.
Ability to analyze and interpret general and financial business reports. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Experience and knowledge of customer service processes and operations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations and conclude with a resolution.
Knowledge and hands on skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must successfully pass the Pre-employment Assessment Evaluation MSP (Management Success Profile).
Must be able to travel 50% of the time.

Prioritizes and plans work activities based on sales goals.
Able to develop and work within an approved department budget.
Works with integrity and upholds company values.

Physical Demands / ADA Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
