Catholic Charities is looking for a part-time Youth Instructor (15 hours/week) to work in a Middle School Neighborhood Center within DPS which offers after school programming, parent engagement and wrap-around services. This position would support the program by offering fun and engaging classes, assisting with data entry and youth/family outreach. Classes would be in the areas of art & culture, academics, leadership, recreation and/or leadership. Examples include: Dance, Urban Art, Digital Photography, Peer Mentoring, Tutoring, etc. Great opportunity to see and be a part of what goes on behind the scenes at an outcome based program. The program is youth driven and based on principals of positive youth development. Must have experience and enjoy working with middle school youth in an urban setting.

Skills / Requirements

High School Diploma/ GED and six months related experience
• Training and/or applied experience working with middle school youth.
• Excellent communication skills, bilingual preferred.
• Good knowledge of issues relating to youth, education and community resources.
• Ability to work well with diverse populations.
