Job: After-School Youth Instructor- Elementary School

The Youth Instructor/Group Leader position is responsible for leading a group of elementary students during the out-of-school program. The program is located in two Southwest Denver elementary schools. The comprehensive, school-based project is strengths-based and includes both educational and enrichment programming. The Group Leader has 20 children assigned to her/him, leads the children throughout the project, records attendance, handles behavior problems, communicates with parents and assists with the overall project to ensure its success.

High School Diploma/ GED and six months related experience

• Training and/or applied experience working with elementary-age children.
• Excellent communication skills, bilingual preferred.
• Good knowledge of issues relating to youth, education and community resources.
• Ability to work well with diverse populations.
• Program hours are Monday-Friday from 2:30-5:30
