Job: Entry Level Mechanic

West Metro Fire Protection District is seeking people interested in a full-time career position as an Entry Level Mechanic in our Fleet Division. The position requires a variety of automotive service, repair, preventive maintenance and safety checks of the Districts’ vehicles and support equipment. The right candidate will progressively perform automotive repair and service tasks based on the level of training and experience. Also completes heavy labor related tasks such as changing truck tires, moving heavy components and janitorial tasks. The member will perform a variety of automotive service, repair, preventive maintenance and safety checks on the Districts' vehicles and support equipment. Work is performed under the direction and evaluation of the Fleet Manager.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED certification. Must have a minimum of two years experience or equivalent trade school training with automotive equipment and procedures. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

Drug screen and background investigation required.
