Job: School Based Therapist - Thornton

Jobing Description
We are looking for two full-time Therapists to work with our School Based Therapy team which serves Adams County District 12. One position is available at Thornton Middle School, the other at Northglenn High School. Under supervision, it is the Therapists' responsibility to provide direct mental health clinical assessment and evidence-based interventions to consumers and/or their families. The primary treatment setting will be a public school setting, but treatment may also be provided in other settings including residential facilities, outpatient clinics, and/or consumer homes.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides brief, solution-focused, evidence-based interventions to consumers and families as appropriate to the position and needs of the school.
  • Prepares treatment plans, discharge plans, and follow-up care programs.
  • Provides therapeutic crisis intervention and emergency services as required.
  • Provides care to consumers in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
  • Maintains confidentiality of consumer records and documents interventions and program activity according to Community Reach Centers policies and procedures.
  • Provides case management services to consumers as needed.
  • Attends and participates in group sessions, in-service education and training opportunities, meetings, supervisory sessions, and special events.
  • Consults with other therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff, as appropriate, in the performance of therapy and/or casework.
  • Refers clients to appropriate service agencies as required.
  • Provides consultation to school staff as requested.
  • Interfaces with school staff to assess need for mental health treatment.
  • Provides 1200 billable service hours per year and enters clinical data in a timely manner (within one day of service provision).
  • Provides classes, training, and/or other psychoeducational interventions as needed.
  • Assists in collection and organization of data/information needed for program evaluation.


Skills / Requirements
Requirements:
  • Minimum of a Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field.
  • At least 6-12 months of direct clinical experience, which may include internship/practicum.
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical social work and mental health counseling principles, methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Knowledge and understanding of brief, empirically supported, solution-focused interventions with children, adolescents, and families.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional counseling licensure (LP, LPC, LMFT, LCSW).
  • Experience providing consultation and direct treatment services in a public school setting.
  • The ability to deliver therapeutic services in Spanish.
