Posted Date: 10/31/2009 Shift: Day Category: Business Professional (Non-Clinical) - Positions Department: 1801 16th Street Facility: Banner Health - Western Region Position Type: Full-Time-FA Shift Hours: 8am-5pm Hours Per Week: 40 Overview: This position develops and establishes academic partnerships, future graduate pipelines and student experience strategies to meet the organization's current and long-term projected critical healthcare workforce needs. Researches and establishes partnerships with academic institutions for initiation of student experiences or development of customized education programs for system-wide implementation. Develops creative approaches to design and implement new sourcing strategies including influencing curriculum at academic institutions and establishing partnerships to increase the numbers of qualified graduates for critical need positions. Plans, designs, implements, and evaluates assigned programs for system-wide implementation assuring standardization to the fullest extent possible. Programs will support recruitment and retention initiatives by assisting and retaining employees desiring new career paths as well as attracting and recruiting prospective new employees. Serves as a regional liaison to the regions in addressing healthcare workforce needs. Responsibilities: Accountable for the success of assigned sponsored student or student experience programs. Impacts successful pipeline development efforts by proactively researching, analyzing, recommending and implementing new strategies which produce results aligned with organizational initiatives. Manages program operating budgets and secures/manages additional grant/foundation funding as needed for the programs. Participation in community based academic/healthcare task forces is required. Collaborates with clinical leaders, facility based student coordinators, and faculty as well as leaders and faculty from partnered academic institutions. Skills / Requirements
Must possess a strong knowledge of healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing, business, healthcare administration or related field. Must demonstrate a strong knowledge and background in a clinical healthcare area (RN, Medical Imaging, etc), higher and adult education, or program/business development and management as typically demonstrated through 5 to 7 years related experience. Must be able to achieve objectives in a complex, multi-facility, geographically dispersed corporate setting and function within a matrix management environment. Must demonstrate project management effectiveness resulting in achievement of desired outcomes. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Requires the ability to create and present business proposals. Must possess strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to prioritize and react to needs rapidly. Requires effective listening skills and a supportive and encouraging approach to student, faculty, and student liaison challenges. Must participate in and promote team building skills, as well as provide excellent customer service. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree preferred. Experience in workforce development program design, developing community partnerships or organization development preferred. Experience as a user/trainer for designated clinical documentation applications preferred. Important Notes
