Job: Automotive Diesel Technician and Automatic Transmission Technician

Phil Long Ford of Chapel Hills has an immediate opening for an Automotive Diesel Technician and an Automatic Transmission Technician. Both positions requires Ford Certification. Candidates must be capable of working in other specialized areas such as driveability, suspension and electrical. A Diesel Mechanic responsibilities include diagnosing trouble, disassembling engines, and examining parts for defects and excessive wear. Reconditions and replaces parts, such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves and bushings, using engine lathes, boring machines, handtools, and precision measuring instruments. May weld and cut parts, using arc-welding and flame cutting equipment.

An Automatic Transmission Technician responsibilities include repairing automatic transmissions. Raising automotive vehicle and removing transmission, using mechanic's hand tools. Disassembles transmission unit and replaces broken or worn parts, such as bands, gears, seals, and valves. Adjusts pumps, bands, and gears as required, using wrenches. Installs repaired transmission and fills it with specified fluid. Adjusts operating linkage and tests operation on road. May adjust carburetor. May verify idle speed of motor using equipment, such as tachometer, making required adjustments.

5 Years of Dealership Experience as a Diesel Technician or 5 Years of Experience as an Automatic Transmission Technician

Ford Certification

Capable of working in other areas such as driveability, suspension and electrical

Valid Colorado Driver's License

Must be able to successfully pass Phil Long Dealership's post offer screening process
