Post Date 9/15/2009 Title IPG Business Analyst (962) City Colorado Springs State CO JOB BRIEF Serves as an advisor around the full-cycle of business processes and business solution development to ensure successful and effective use of technology to support business strategic objectives. Acts as a liaison between customers, project managers, product teams, and solution providers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: requirements gathering, analysis, validation and documentation; translation, communication, and validation of requirements for solution providers; facilitation of meetings and working sessions; communication of status reports on solution development to customers, project managers and/or line management; researching potential business solutions; and facilitation of ROI analysis. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer. *Acts as an advocate for children - raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one's influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children. *Discovers, documents, validates, analyzes, and communicates customer and stakeholder requirements for solutions that will support or enable business processes. *Serves as a point of contact between the customer and the solution provider with respect to customer requirements during any stage of solution development, including coordination of changes to requirements or solution configuration. *Collaborates with potential solution providers in the conversion of business requirements into views that enable the purchase or development of focused business solutions. *Creates and maintains inventories of existing, proposed, and potential business solutions, to enable matching solutions with business needs. Includes continuous environmental scanning for new potential solutions. *Ensures the progress of solution development according to customer requirements. *Facilitates ROI analysis for proposed solutions. *Serves as administrator, as requested by management, for particular business solutions. Ability to establish trust and confidence with customers, stakeholders, and solution providers. *Ability to clearly and concisely document complete business requirements, validate those requirements and their implications with both customer and solution provider, and create understanding among all involved. *Ability to manage time and priorities, including managing multiple projects in parallel and ensuring multiple teams complete tasks in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to successfully manage personal workload with minimal supervision. *Ability to make complex ideas or situations clear, simple, and/or understandable. Ability to recognize patterns and uncover underlying issues in complex situations quickly in order to develop short and long term solutions. *Ability to effectively prepare for and facilitate productive meetings, working sessions, and activities among diverse groups, including customers, stakeholders, solution providers, and support staff. *Strong cross-cultural knowledge and the ability to work effectively in a variety of environments. JOB QUALIFICATIONS *Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. *A bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or information systems. Graduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. *Minimum of 2 years experience in business analysis or a very closely related field that would yield a similar skill set and understanding. Experience working in an international, not-for-profit environment is preferred. *Other Required Skills: Proficiency required in the current version of MS Office, and preferred in MS Visio, MS Office SharePoint Services, MS Project, and Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect.CORE VALUES
