JOB BRIEF

The purpose of this Technical Lead position is to provide technical leadership and direction to all facets of Compassion's service oriented architecture (SOA) team. Collaborates with business and IT stakeholders to help ensure that business projects and processes achieve both local and organization wide business application requirements. Provides the necessary leadership required for the development of and implementation of SOA technology strategies, policies, principles and security issues within a business to business framework.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.
Acts as an advocate for children
- raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one's influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
Understands, advocates, and augments technology principles that enable the creation of flexible applications that can evolve to meet emerging business requirements.
Develops governance, standards, policies and procedures related to managing an enterprise service business and a business process modeling tool.
Govern services and adapters developed or migrated into the ESB. Ensure enterprise worthiness (business and technical) of all components
Establish data architectural policies and best practices
Establish, develop and maintain positive partnerships with customer groups, enterprise architects, vendors, and act as the technical lead for on-site and off-shore activities.
Design and develop business to business solutions and coordinate Identity Management across IT.
Leads the development of security policies for ESB, BPM and the migration plan of business rules into a BPM.
Monitor and optimize operational and test implementations and the ability to evaluate and assess current and upcoming technologies.
Creates an effective learning environment through coaching and mentoring partnerships with the senior and junior development staff.


Skills / Requirements
FUNCTIONAL JOB COMPETENCIES

  1. Solid understanding of Service Oriented Architectures, Business Process Modeling and Data Architecture.

  2. Experienced in a broad range of IT disciplines with an emphasis on the modeling of and integration of enterprise-scale systems.

  3. Experienced in the design and implementation of integrated information management architectures.

  4. Knowledge and understanding of software development processes, DMZ and associated security policies.

  5. Possesses a strong suite of research skills in order to troubleshoot organizational problems and implement strategic, systemic solutions.

  6. Proven ability to lead toward the long-term ("big picture") by creating roadmaps and implementation plans that account for the short-term perspectives of situations.

  7. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, negotiation and group communications.

  8. Excellent analytical, technical and presentation skills.

  9. Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems and estimate financial impacts of technical architecture alternatives.

  10. Ability to quickly comprehend the functions, capabilities, and relevance of new technologies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  2. Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology management, systems analysis, or equivalent experience.

  3. 10 plus years of experience in technical architecture, complete SDL experience and business to business experience preferred. System and/or software development background/experience is required (Microsoft is a plus).

  4. Certifications/Licensing: N/A
