DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Cooperates with other personnel and stakeholders to achieve organizational mission and strategic objectives and maintains positive relations throughout the organization.
Maintains established hospital departmental policies and procedures; participates in quality assessment and improvement processes, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Demonstrates self directed learning and participates in continuing education to ensure professional growth.
Assists in providing direct patient care following a developed plan of care for age specific patient populations per delegation by the RN.
Assists co-workers in completing their duties to promote effective teamwork.
Assists Nursing Leadership in maintaining an efficient and safe environment, examples include but not limited to verifying and logging refrigerator temperatures, ordering and stocking supplies, verification of eyewash stations, maintains utility rooms, equipment rooms, etc.
Assists with patient's activities of daily living. Takes and records patient vital signs, food and fluid intake and output, blood glucose monitoring, blood draws, ambulation of patient's as assigned by RN.
Serves and collects food trays and feeds patient requiring help, assists patients with room service as needed.
Is responsive to patient needs by answering call lights, bells, intercom system, etc.: tidy patient room prn; changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors and answers telephones.
Receives, facilitates communication, answers inquiries and directs patients, families and visitors.
Prepares requisitions for drugs, x-rays, lab and other treatments as well as needed transportation and/or supplies needed for those treatments.
