Jobing Description
Development and oversight of the Veteran Services program including outreach to the military community to identify the mental health needs of veterans and their families. Build relationships and/or partnerships within the military community that are beneficial to the implementation and growth of the program. Work with the development department to find potential funding sources within the community in an effort to develop a self sustaining program.
• Program development and oversight of the Veteran Services Program.
• Conduct community assessment of veterans and military families to determine their mental health needs, as well as access existing resources in the community.
• Build and foster community relationships with the military community, family readiness groups, chaplains, Tri-Care primary care medical providers, reservists, local chapters of Gold Star Wives, Marine Corp. Moms VFW’s, etc.
• Help secure funding through grants, DOD research grants, as well as possible community collaboration with the VA or CBHC.
• Exhibits leadership, enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility and the spirit of cooperation in the work environment.
• Presentations in the military community and within Jefferson Center regarding Family Veteran Services and mental health issues.
• Outreach and education to the general population regarding Veteran Services.
• Work with the Development Department to identify potential funding sources and if grant monies are secured, track grant and ensure outcomes are met.

Skills / Requirements
Master’s degree and license in mental health preferred, program management or related field. Experience working with persons with mental illness preferred. Prior military service is strongly preferred, or in-depth knowledge of military culture.
Experience with Program development and administration preferred. Experience in direct and administrative supervision of staff preferred.Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills, as well as strong public speaking skills. Excellent customer service skills needed in interactions with the military community and within the Jefferson Center organization. Proven computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access and Power point
