We are a private nonprofit dedicated to premier medical, dental and behavioral health services for people of all ages. We provide primary care services to residents of the Pikes Peak Region through 18 outpatient health centers and are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC).
Job Summary
Direct support for patient care providers in the performance of routine and acute clinical functions pertinent to efficient, ambulatory patient care. Performs preliminary patient care, including vital signs, interviewing and documentation of the chief complaint. Collects lab specimens documents and routes to the lab with appropriate forms completed. Sterilizes and cleans instruments/equipment per agency protocols. Familiar with routine lab tests and procedures, able to recognize abnormal results and take appropriate action. Schedules appointments, and performs the necessary intake functions for arriving patients, assists in questions, directs telephone calls, and other patient service duties. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Graduated from a Medical Assistant Program. “Registered Status' desirable. Military applicant acceptable with equivalent training.Work Experience: Externship completed. Previous ambulatory care experience preferred.Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): High language, math, reasoning and critical thinking abilitiesComputer Skills: Basic computer knowledge required, keyboarding skillsCertificates & Licenses: MA certificate and current CPR (BCLS) certification required
Physical Demands
Able to support/lift at least 50 pounds. Long periods of standing, moving, occasional periods of sitting. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Must be able to get from one clinic site to related locations. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.*Successful candidates will complete pre-employment screening; which includes, but is not limited to a Criminal Background check and pre-employment MA test.
