Occupational Therapist, is an exempt professional position responsible for performing occupational therapy, evaluating patient needs, and conducting case and resource management. Provides consistently high quality of care in accordance with the plan of care and Agency policies. Uses appropriate case management skills. Assists the physician in evaluating the level of function and helps develop the plan of care revising it as necessary. Prepares clinical and progress notes. Advises and consults with the family, physician, and other agency personnel. Participates in in-service program maintaining and enhancing therapy skills on an ongoing basis. Performs specific therapeutic exercises as needed. Communicates regularly with other disciplines involved in care. The procedures required by the therapist may include (but are not limited to): muscle re-education, ADL training, adaptive equipment, orthotics, fine motor coordination, sensory rehabilitation, therapeutic exercise, and cognitive assessments/interventions.Documents care in an accurate and timely manner by meeting established deadlines, by communicating regularly with other caregivers regarding case(s) and documenting interdisciplinary communication, and by meeting regulatory agency and pay source requirements. Effectively manages a caseload at least equivalent to the productivity standard established, and regularly communicating with the scheduler regarding caseload status.

Skills / Requirements

Graduation from a college or university, with a degree in Occupational Therapy. Active Colorado OT license and current CPR certification required. One year of experience as an occupational therapist required. One year of home care experience preferred. Other requirements may vary by case or department needs. Complete knowledge of general occupational therapy practices. Sufficient knowledge of Agency policies and procedures regarding patient care. Computer knowledge may be required to enter patient data into laptop, depending on position.
