Title: Medical Assistant Supervisor

Provides supervision to include monthly training and coaching for all Medical Assistant team members. Trains all incoming employees during new employee orientation to include but not limited to NextGen/EPM/NGN training. Monitors MA attendance, timecards and departmental disciplinary actions. Has authority to hire, terminate, or make suggestions and recommendations as to the employment status of others that are given particular weight. Works in conjunction with Clinical Team Manager regarding MA evaluations and will exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. Will customarily and regularly direct the work of assigned MAs and demonstrate thorough knowledge of all SOPs involving staff, patient regulations including (HIPAA) and on-going clinic specific center regulations. Responsible for updating of all training, ordering appropriate materials, managing created provider templates and ensuring monthly competencies are completed on time. Manages the department in the absence of the CTM. Assists the team as a primary or float MA as needed. Assists the team as a primary or float MA as needed. Performs other duties as assigned
Supervision Received: Clinical Team Manager or Clinical Nurse Manager
Supervision Exercised: Medical Assistants
Education: Associates Degree in Business/Healthcare preferred. Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. “Registered Status' desirable. Military applicant acceptable with equivalent training.
Work Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Medical Assistant required. Supervisory experience preferred, medical office experience strongly preferred.
Cognitive Skills (Language, Math, Reasoning Ability): High language, math, reasoning and critical thinking abilities. Strong Customer Service/Communication Skills. Ability to correctly perform basic math/calculations and reading skills. Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
Computer Skills: Computer knowledge and keyboarding skills required.
Certificates & Licenses: MA certificate; current CPR (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire. Valid CO Driver's License and reliable means of transportation required.
Frequent standing and walking, occasional long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements. Hearing within normal range for telephone use. Fine motor skills. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
