We are currently seeking talented Physical Security Specialist III for our Colorado Springs, CO facility.

PURPOSE OF JOB

Provides physical security services for USAA. Controls personnel and delivery access at entry gates, turnstiles, and visitor lobbies. Provides information, direction, and assistance to visitors, employees, and contractors. Performs pedestrian and vehicle traffic direction and parking control. Uses established procedures to carry out routine work duties. Works under direct supervision.

JOB DUTIES

  • Controls access to USAA gates and turnstiles. Provides information and direction. Provides vehicle assistance services.
  • Patrols USAA complex to prevent trespassing, theft, vandalism, and other activities.
  • Identifies, reports, and takes action on security and safety issues. Issues citations for parking and traffic violations.
  • Acquires and applies foundational knowledge of policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Seeks guidance from team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for escalation.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Basic knowledge of PC applications.
  • Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR qualification.
  • If required by state, must obtain a state security officer firearm license within 6 months of hire date.
  • Must successfully complete all USAA requirements for carrying a firearm.
  • Must pass a Fit for Duty evaluation.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds and be able to perform the physical requirements associated with patrolling the complex.

Preferred

  • Proprietary security experience within a corporate environment, law enforcement or military police role.
  • Prior experience with the CCURE 800 access control system or a similar program.
  • A degree or some college credits in Criminal Justice or related fields.
  • Currently or previously licensed as an armed security officer in the State of Colorado or be able to complete all USAA Security training curriculums including those required to carry a firearm while on duty.
  • Must be able to successfully complete the background screening requirements.
  • Capable of walking and standing for extended periods of times and capable of walking several flights of stairs in succession.

*All uniforms and equipment will be provided by USAA. Due to staffing and training requirements, some work days, shifts and hours will be altered.
