We have been a community partner for more than 100 years and have been recently been named one of the Top 10 nationwide utilities for overall customer satisfaction by J.D. Power and Associates. The Workforce Management (WFM) section is seeking an innovative and driven Senior Employee Relations Specialist to help us meet our employee relations and organizational development needs. Through the application of coaching, facilitating and consulting, WFM enables leaders and employees at all levels to apply the principles of human capital management, such as redirecting or correcting performance and behavior, investigating and resolving complaints, conflict resolution, and compliance with federal, state and local laws. What does it take to be successful in this position? The successful candidate will work in the areas of employee relations, equal employment, random drug testing, and diversity programs and provide technical expertise in EEO, ADA, Diversity and related local labor legislation and Human Resource Law. This position will require frequent local travel and time out of the office. The incumbent must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License upon hire. While most people in this occupation will have completed a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration or a closely related field and have at least seven years of experience in a Human Resources environment, the ideal candidate, however, will have the above experience and in addition, at least 2-4 years of demonstrated progressively responsible experience with Employee Relations and proven skills with the following:
* Employee relations coaching, conflict resolutions, appeal processes; unemployment hearings, fitness for duty, workplace violence;
* Progressive experience in conducting employee investigations and corrective actions/discipline;
* Expertise in EEO, ADA, Diversity and related local labor legislation and Human Resource Law; drug and alcohol policies;
* Strong ability to influence others by persuading and negotiating effectively with others; influencing others' decision-making; and coordinating others' efforts to accomplish work; and,
* Ability to use tact and assertiveness with confidence in confrontational situations
* PHR/SPHR is preferred
