Position Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Social Services Department in assigned community, including the
hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of direct reporting staff.

Essential Duties
* Assess, evaluate and strive to meet the psychosocial needs of the residents.
* Assists in the preparation of the Social Services budget and maintains compliance with budgetary guidelines.
* Assists in creating, implementing, reviewing and revising Social Services policies and procedures updating as needed.
* Provides information and referral to residents, families and staff that link individuals to internal and/or external services.
* Disseminates information regarding available financial resources and helps maintain and insure continuation of any monetary benefits that residents are entitled and/or eligible.
* Mediates disputes between and among residents, families and staff.
* Assists with crisis intervention and assists with appropriate individuals to develop alternative coping strategies.
* Designs, implements and evaluates programs and services that that serve individual needs and interests.
* In compliance with the Company's policies, is responsible for interviewing, hiring, developing, supervising and following the Company's performance management policy with direct reporting staff.
* Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications & Experience
* Masters Degree in Social Work.
* A minimum of two (2) years experience in long-term care preferred.
* 1-year experience in a supervisory capacity.
* Experience with computer word processing and database programs.
* Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
* Must possess excellent customer service skills

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
* Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
* Sits, stands, bends and moves intermittently during working hours.
* Is subject to frequent interruptions.
* Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.
