Located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Lakewood, Colorado, Red Rocks Community College offers more than 150 programs and 650 courses leading to two-year degrees or professional certificates. Red Rocks has campuses in Lakewood and Arvada. Courses are delivered in formats from traditional classroom to online to self-paced and weekend classes.

Since 1969, Red Rocks Community College has delivered a quality education to an eclectic mix of students of all ages, incomes and backgrounds. For many of our 14,000 annual students, Red Rocks is the convenient community college just down the street. For others, a Red Rocks program or course is worth traveling halfway around the world.

We are currently seeking a Water Quality Management Faculty to join our outstanding team.

Responsibilities:
Teach using traditional and alternative methods of instruction (computer-aided instruction, interdisciplinary approaches, self-paced, on-line, etc.). Maintain full-time teaching load. Coordinate with other faculty in curriculum planning, development, delivery and review. Recruit, advise and retain students. Hold regular
office hours. Participate in departmental governance and assume department duties as needed. Assist department chair in recommending qualified part-time instructors. Participate in department, divisional and college-wide professional development activities and committees. Demonstrate sensitivity to different learning styles. Serve as a liaison between Red Rocks Community College and the community. Fulfill the
direct teaching, indirect teaching, professional development and service obligations of full-time faculty. Seek and develop meaningful relationships with industry representatives for the purpose of producing measurable outcomes to include student internships, convening a minimum of 2 industry council meetings annually to review curriculum, receive support from industry to include in-kind and cash support of the program, and recruit part time instructors directly from industry.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or Environmental Sciences. Ability to obtain the appropriate Career and Technical Education (CTE) credential.

A strong commitment to effective teaching and to the learner-centered philosophy. Experience working with diverse populations. Knowledge of, interest in and ability to use technology-assisted and online delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:
One year community college or similar teaching experience. Strong commitment to the community college philosophy. Previous laboratory experience in operating and managing a science laboratory setting and or laboratory management and testing within the water management and or waste water treatment industries. Teaching experience that demonstrates knowledge of a variety of innovative teaching strategies such as collaborative learning, team teaching, and teaching compressed courses. Experience advising student clubs and organizations. Demonstrated proficiency in computing programs specific to MS Office Professional.
