Located just seven miles north of downtown Denver, Adams 12 Five Star Schools is close to the conveniences of a major city center yet far enough to offer the quiet of the suburbs. Teachers (certified positions ? supplemental pay)
This is a grant funded position.
This position is responsible for revising and delivering U-STARS STEM enhanced units in both the summer and school year CCLC funded programs. This position will work with students during the summer program for four hours per day in the mornings and there will be one hour of planning time per day. The units are pre-created but will need to be enhanced with technology and engineering integration. There will be 20 hours of paid time before the summer program begins in early July to work with the District Science/STEM Coordinator to learn how to enhance these units and to create them. This work will happen in June 2012. All summer work is paid at a teacher?s per diem rate but not more than $34.00 per hour per Master Agreement. Each summer site will have one teacher position. The ideal candidate will be able to work in both the summer and school year CCLC programs.
During the school year, each CCLC site will have two teacher positions that are responsible for the same scope of STEM work as was offered in the summer program. These positions will work 1.5 hours after school Monday through Thursday from roughly 3:15-4:45 pm with students teaching U-STARS STEM units. There will be two hours of paid prep time per week to plan for the instruction as well. There will also be 30 hours of paid time before the school year program begins to work with District Science/STEM Coordinator to learn how to enhance the U-STARS units with engineering and technology and to plan out units for the year. This work will happen in June, July and August 2012. All after school work will be paid at a teacher?s per diem rate but not more than $34.00 per hour.
These are not regular contracted teaching vacancies. Current District 12 Certified Teachers and external certified candidates are eligible to apply.
This is an hourly teacher position, not benefits eligible, will not be placed under contract.
