Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Staff Estimator to support the Global Oil & Gas Business. This position will be based in our Greenwood Village, CO office.

Position Description:
  • The successful candidate will possess the demonstrated skills  and experience necessary to:
  • Efficiently deliver timely, responsive and responsible estimates that are consistent, objectively prepared and reliably accurate for their intended purpose. The end product being a “priced execution plan”.
  • Support multiple estimates simultaneously by implementing a thorough and methodical estimating process.
  • Work efficiently and effectively with project management and other engineering discipline leads to execute project work on schedule and within budget.
  • Support and present estimates to internal management and clients to ensure alignment on the estimate basis, execution plan, estimated cost and risk/contingency in evaluation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Individual incumbents may be responsible for cross discipline application or may concentrate in one or moreof the Estimating disciplines including Electrical,Architectural/Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Systems Control, Estimating cornerstone application analysis, etc.
  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of order of magnitude, preliminary, definitive, change orders and check estimates using appropriate methods and techniques.
  • Prepares equipment and material take-off.
  • Utilizes the appropriate company and industry historical data for costing estimates.
  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of project and discipline estimate summaries.
  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of the Basis of Estimate.
  • Participates in estimate reviews.
  • Establishes and maintains cost databases and product line specific parametric analysis tools.
  • Advanced level incumbents demonstrate soft skill attributes such as leadership, conflict resolution, team building and mentoring.

Minimum Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Administration or Bachelor's Degree in Science in a related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Experience:
  • 8 years estimating experience  in the engineering or construction industry
  • Previous experience as an estimator for an oil & gas consulting firm or oil & gas facility owner
  • Previous experience preparing estimates during Pre FEED, FEED and Detail design including knowledge of required engineering deliverable and estimating methodologies at each stage of design.
  • Has a strong understanding of planning and scheduling and  cost structure such as overheads, G&A, insurances
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficient knowledge of using estimating specific software such as WinEstimator and Aspen Capital Cost Estimator  or similar estimating tool


Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, construction,  or related field
  • Master’s degree in business, engineering, or construction management desirable.
  • Previous experience as an estimator for an EPC company and/or an owner of Oil & Gas facility.
  • Experience with mechanical and piping systems for Oil & Gas industrial projects is desired.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient knowledge of using Estimating specific software’s (WinEstimator and Aspen Capital Cost Estimator experience is preferred).
