Job Summary
AECOM Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager for our Greenwood Village, CO office who will be responsible for leading teams to deliver projects in the Federal vertical market sector. Advanced knowledge of construction, plan review, construction means and methods, and problem solving is required.
Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing senior-level leadership to each project and its objectives, defining project strategies for success. 

  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span multiple lines of business regarding day-to-day projects and lead project management team meetings.
  • Ensure all project specifications and regulations are being followed, meeting successful, and on-time project delivery.
  • Supervises project teams, reviews their reports, checks on any reported difficulties, and corrects any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
  • Ensure regular progress meetings are being held to identify, track action items and deliverables.
  • Working creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment while demonstrating teamwork.
  • Monitor staff performance and execute performance reviews.
  • Continue professional development to keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, methods, and best practices.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of project engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change and issues.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • BA/BS + 8 years of relative experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Suite, have experience in material take-offs, estimating, project scheduling, shop drawings, as well as be able to manage issues, risks, project change to ensure successful, and on-time project delivery.
  • Must be able to prepare, lead cost and labor estimates for vertical construction projects with authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis.
  • Excellent motivation and communication skills, being capable of dealing with employees, owners, architects, engineers and project subcontractors is required.
  • Must have skills to develop industry relationships, expand professional networks that have the potential to generate future sales opportunities.
Must Have Skills/Experience:
  • Civil Engineer or Construction Management graduate with 15 years of construction project management experience. 
  • Exceptional communications skills, written and verbal with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of management.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs on schedule and on budget.
  • Experience in drafting and submitting budget proposals, recommending subsequent budget changes when necessary. 
  • Capable of developing a critical path schedule, comprehending construction drawings.
  • Experience with Federal vertical structures with the Department of Defense and/or the Department of Energy, such as military installations, dormitories, hangars, hospitals, laboratories and office buildouts.
  • Experience with Federal site civil and/or airfield operations projects.
  • Familiarity with government specifications and EM-385 guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Contract delivery and Federal Subcontracting.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with construction building codes and standards as it relates to civil, structural, mechanical and electrical trades. 
  • Will have reach back capability to technical expertise in AECOM offices in the US.
  • Proficiency with Web based interactive programs, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam is required.
  • Experience running $50 to $300 million dollars projects.
  • Must be able to travel, attending client Industry Days, proposal development and onsite project management.
  • Valid driver’s license and transportation required.
  • Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Professional Certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience in leadership, managing various projects and team size, while holding a team accountable for performance.
  • Have flexibility with the aptitude to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through problem solving capabilities.
  • Experience in an ambiguous environment to achieve a common business objective.
