The Sales Support Specialist will focus on sales support for the Account Managers assisting to field customers concerns and questions.


This person may at times make outbound calls to proactively receive orders as well as complete research about the progress of an order using our SAP Computer system.


The representative may route calls to other departments if deemed necessary, and will work closely with AR, Admin, Sales Reps, and branches to resolve customer issues.


The focus will be to use product knowledge, customer service tools, and acquired sales skills to effectively service each customer in a professional manner according to Airgas' 3Cs policy; Connect, Consult, Confirm.


The incumbent will use proper phone etiquette to connect with customers, consult with them on their needs and will confirm the request by summarizing the phone conversation.





To provide excellent customer service support in order to increase sales and profits of the customer account base.


Resolve customer complaints and problems.


Manage time and organize work to maximize completion of daily work responsibilities.


Provide necessary product explanation or research as needed by customer.


Efficient and accurate entry of credit memorandums.


Research products with vendors including pricing and availability details.


Works safely and meets the requirements of all safety procedures and rules as

described by state, federal and company requirements.

Computer skills with comprehensive knowledge of computer order entry system Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SAP.


Excellent communication skills.


Two years sales support experience.


Billing or accounting experience preferred


Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.


Must be able to work overtime, when necessary.


Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities

and background.


Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.



Language Skills


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  


Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  


Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of the Company.



Mathematical Skills


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  


Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
