Strategic Account Manager-Oil & Gas

Airgas is the industry leader in medical and industrial gases as well as welding and safety equipment.
Develops and maintains company customers, with focus on the oil refiners within the region.
Responsible for sales activities for existing and potential strategic accounts/key account customers within the region.
Maintains and constantly improves the company's competitive position.
Ensures maximum sales volume at minimum cost.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Establishes and maintains high-level relationships with business decision makers
at Strategic National Accounts (SNA) serviced within the regional company.
Develop proposals, presentations and pricing agreement for key accounts with the
intent on securing both daily and turnaround business requirements on behalf of
Airgas USA, LLC at the regions oil refiners.
Act as liaison between the regional company, the Strategic Accounts Team, and
the downstream market segment leaders.
Effectively communicate equipment and product needs with Airgas Priority
Responsible for rollouts, implementations, and reporting requirements for all
SNA's within the regional company and completion of required cost savings
Responsible for ensuring Airgas and all strategic account locations are adhering to
contractual commitments, and assist and support strategic relationships.
Escalate non-active accounts that require national contacts to the national group.
Maintain and monitor active/non-active file.
Maintain and upgrade selling skills and technical/product knowledge; stay abreast
of current market trends.
Proactively analyze existing regional company customer database, identify
potential within that database and develop strategies for approaching this
Participate in sales/branch team-selling concept by attending branch team
meetings, utilizing specialists, and communicating in advance with other
departments regarding special circumstances necessary to fulfill contractual
agreements with customers.
Ensure customer inquiries related to billing problems, cylinder balances, order
status, etc. are addressed timely and professionally, providing follow-up as

Responsible for monitoring and reporting on existing strategic account
performance; prepares and submits all required weekly and monthly reports in a

Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation to travel to and from customer locations.

Must be able to work flexible hours to meet customer needs and management

Ability to write routine business reports and correspondence and effectively
present information and respond to questions from associates, managers,
customers and the general public.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or at least seven years
related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and
MBA is preferred.
Ability to schedule regular visits to assigned accounts throughout the region.
Overnight travel is required.
