SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Denver, Colorado Office as a Highway Construction Quality Inspector

 

 

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

 

Under supervision, observes the work of contractors involved in the construction of projects. NOTE: Incumbents do not supervise any contractor activities and are not responsible for job site safety. Highway/bridge construction quality assurance inspector.

 

JOB DUTIES

• Performs non-manual field work in support of company's construction management operations.
• Applies conventional field observation practices in diversified construction projects with relatively few highly complex features.
• Performs field inspection to assure contractor compliance with contract requirements, field measurements for pay item quantities, prepares daily reports and pay item quantity reports.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field and two years related experience.
• With Associate's degree, ten years of related experience. 
• Without a degree, twelve years related experience is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS

• Good mathematical, communications, analytical, computer and organizational skills.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

• May be required to have certification in nuclear density, aggregate, concrete and asphalt testing or other applicable area.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum two years experience as a roadway/bridge construction quality assurance inspector, preferable for CDOT or other state DOTs construction projects. 
• CDOT construction inspector certification or other state construction inspection certifications are helpful.
