Job Description

The Equipment Engineer is responsible for engineering and material procurement of cell site projects. This position requires the individual to manage time schedules, technology, and capital to Must ensure compliance with all standards and practices.
Must provide complete equipment specifications for Network projects as defined by network deployment plans. Engineering plan should cover cell hardware, DAS and in-building equipment, transmission equipment, power equipment, batteries, cables, floor space planning, HVAC, and miscellaneous hardware.
Efficiently manage the budget as it relates to equipment purchasing. This includes processing orders and invoices in a timely manner.
Analyze work orders and coordinate with equipment vendors, facilities engineering and radio engineering groups to assure that equipment is configured to meet network requirements.
Design, specify, and document special equipment configurations when required by site-specific construction situations. Work closely with all engineering groups in the Network team including RF Design, Real Estate, Construction, Network Assurance, and System Performance.
Effectively manage vendors and consultants. Work with vendors to obtain quotes and ensure their products and services meet requirements.
Manage outside vendors and contractors to effectively meet shipping and installation commitments.
Request authorization for funds, write purchase orders, and manage procurement activities using PeopleSoft Purchasing system. Ensure departmental compliance with company procurement and equipment installation policies Create pick list/ship requests and ensure equipment arrives accurately in field to meet project requirements.

Bachelor's degree in technical or financial field and minimum 5 years of telecommunication experience.
Detailed knowledge of cell RF, DAS and in building systems, electrical and mechanical design, including equipment configuration, TELCO interface, DC power systems, lightning protection and grounding.
Close attention to detail is a requirement.
Must have excellent organizational skills.
Excellent team, project management, and communications skills.
Must be self-motivated, show initiative, and be able to work independently. Must be highly productive and able to manage several tasks and projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of databases, Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite applications, web-based application, and software tool packages.
