Lowboy Drivers will be responsible to load and unload equipment in a safe reliable manner from one site to the next. Must have knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, 2 years driving history, clean MVR, and have a CDL Class A. Maintain accurate logs, records, and daily company paperwork. Will also be responsible to ensure that tractor trailer are in good working condition, and must notify shop of any issues to get corrected immediately.

Duties, Skills, and Responsibilities:

  • All employees are required to work safely and report any injury immediately
  • Drives truck to transport material and equipment to and from specified destinations
  • Positions blocks, tie roper and other devices to secure load during transit
  • Load and unload equipment on trailers
  • Verifies load against shipping papers
  • Prepares receipts for materials picked up to assure proper logs/paperwork comply with DOT regulations
  • Maintains logs and records according to DOT regulations as required
  • Maintains and checks truck's equipment and supplies to assure roadworthiness
  • Notifies supervisor/ shop of currently needed or anticipated repairs
  • Perform minor emergency roadside repairs
  • Any other duties as assigned


  • Must have two plus years of driving experience
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, managers and customers
  • Ability to produce quality work
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, or irregular hours that will be required based on schedule
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to provide legal right to work in the U.S. as BBAC participates in E-Verify
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • Possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not required
  • Bilingual is a plus

Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to lift 50 (+ -) pounds or be able to ask for assistance
  • Ability to twist, turn and bend continuously
  • Ability to push, pull and carry objects
  • Ability to shovel using hands, arms and legs to complete task
  • Ability to carry small to large objects
  • Ability to perform small detailed tasks

Work environment:

  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles such as dust, dirt, fumes, etc
  • Ability to work in an external environment and under many weather conditions such as frigid cold, and exposure to vibration and/or loud noise
  • Will be exposed to working in and around heavy equipment in motion, must be continuously alert to the equipment operators moving in and around job site, both by BBAC and other trades that may be present
  • Employer will provide appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed, but will be the responsibility of the employee to dress appropriately for the weather conditions
