Job Description
As a member of the Denver Water Resources team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by providing leadership, direction, and technical knowledge as follows:

- Under light supervision, performs basic to high complexity calculations, modeling, data analysis, designs, on site evaluations and/or other similar evaluations for water resources projects (Ex: climate change adaptation; coastal analysis and engineering; collection systems; CSOs; dams; drainage; economics and planning; ecosystem restoration; flood management; green infrastructure; groundwater; hydroelectric power; hydrology and hydraulics; integrated resource planning; irrigation; open channels; outfalls; planning; pressure conduits; probability and risk analysis; reservoirs; sedimentation; spillways, gates, and outlet works; stream, rivers and wetlands; stormwater management; urban watersheds; water law and regulations; watershed management; water supply planning and systems; and water quality, etc.).
- Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Reviews the work of more junior staff.
- Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).
- Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.
- Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.
- Utilizes Technical Knowledge Management (TKM) systems and TKM material. May pose technical questions that support development of the TKM body of knowledge. May support TKM content development as directed.
- Performs other duties as required.
- May create or work with a team to create a poster or other presentation material for a conference.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, coastal or chemical engineering or related discipline.
- Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable.
- Experience: 5 years of related experience.
- Travel: Domestic and/or international travel may be required.  The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity and experience with water resources issues related to river and ecosystem restoration, hydraulic modeling, dam breach and removal, and in-stream and civil design.
- Some project or task management experience beneficial.
- Strong data management and analysis skills using standard platforms such as: MS Excel, MS Access, ArcGIS, and others.
- Familiarity with one or more various modeling (HEC RAS, SWMM) and design platforms (AutoCad, Civil 3D) and/or other technical software preferred. Excellent writing and communication skills desired.
