    This is an entry to intermediate level coding position that codes and abstracts outpatient records for data retrieval, analysis, reimbursement and research. Codes and enters diagnostic and procedure codes into a designated coding and abstracting system utilizing the 3M encoder, as appropriate. Meets qualitative and quantitative coding standards and demonstrates the ability to navigate an EMR. Ability to code across all Centura facilities.

    What You Bring/Job Requirements

    In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Minimum successful completion of coding certificate program
    • A minimum of one year of outpatient coding experience
    • Must demonstrate competency of outpatient coding guidelines specific to outpatient diagnostics and/or emergency services
    • Demonstrate technical coding competency in coding with current Coding and Indexing systems
    • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacology and coding systems (i.e. 3M)
    • Prefer current AHIMA credentials (i.e. RHIA, RHIT, CCA) or AAPC credential (CPC)

    *Special Requirement - Associate must reside in CO, NM, or KS.

    Physical Requirements - Sedentary Work - Prolonged Periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally.
