Job Description

At CoBank, the Compensation and HR Analyst provides day-to-day support of cash compensation program administration and Human Resources (HR) analytics.  Maintains job description library, coordinates periodic review of current job descriptions, and works with management on the creation of descriptions for new jobs.  Maintains market data repository, adding and updating matches, and providing market data analysis as needed.  Participates in salary surveys.  Assists in the administration of the bank’s merit, incentive and promotion processes.  Prepares offer letters and other compensation-related documentation and communications.  Maintains database of credit advancement and relationship management development program participation.  Participates in the annual and ongoing headcount budgeting and reconciliation process and maintenance.  Provides reporting and analytical support for the outsourced supplemental labor program, headcount budgeting, and other ad-hoc management reporting requests. Supports Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA) and Worker’s Compensation analyses, and maintains EEO/AA documentation and data.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or other relevant discipline.
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant compensation and/or HR analytics experience; or an appropriate combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred.
  • Experience with PayScale/Market Pay market data management tool strongly preferred.
  • Experience utilizing HR information systems and tools, with Ceridian Dayforce strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of compensation program administration activities and best practices, and familiarity with state and federal regulations affecting compensation administration.
  • Excellent writing ability, with proven experience drafting new and updating current job descriptions, and conducting job evaluations. 
  • Experience conducting market pricing analysis, with the ability to identify appropriate market data matches and interpret market data results. 
  • Experience with headcount budgeting and other HR related analyses.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and strong business acumen.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and apply appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism while working with confidential HR information.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage workload and projects in order to navigate peaks, prioritize competing commitments, and complete assignments in accordance with established deadlines. 
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow-through and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and professionalism while working with confidential HR information.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to build relationships, collaborate, communicate and work effectively with associates and management at all levels across the bank, as well as outside customers and vendors.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).  Very strong proficiency in Excel (i.e. vlookups, pivot tables, etc.).
