    This experienced analyst assists with administering the daily operation of Compassion's employee benefit program, specifically leave management support. This includes, at a minimum, Compassion's medical, vision, dental, retirement, and spending accounts. This analyst further performs professional level duties such as monthly benefit plan funding, billing, accounting and reconciliation. The incumbent also maintains accurate employee benefit records and coordinates with employees to answer questions and resolve concerns related to benefit plans. At this career level, the incumbent may still be learning and assisting with complex benefits administration and generally works under the guidance of her or his supervisor or a more experienced specialist or as a team member on larger projects.

    Essential Job Functions

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
    • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
    • Assists in administering portions of Compassion’s benefits programs, including resolving administrative and coverage problems with carrier representatives or escalating them to management if necessary to hold them to performance guarantees.
    • Supports a team member in the implementation of new benefit plans and programs, aiding in communication with all stakeholders.
    • This position provides day to day leave management support for our growing, multi-state workforce. Coordinates cases related to leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, disability, and accommodations. Dedicated to serving our employees, supervisors, HR business partners and our vendor partners through clear notifications, communication, procedures, and policies.
    • In addition, this position supports the Wellness program by coordinating physical fitness classes and maintains their schedule. Assists with Wellness portal including events and points.
    • Protects Compassion by accurately administering all leaves of absence and ADA making sure we are compliant for all US states in which Compassion employees are based.
    • Establishes and maintains close working relationships and open line of communication with HR and involves legal as necessary. Coordinates and communicates with third party disability vendors. Continually engages in communication with employees and supervisors.
    • Maintains Workers Compensation program for all states in which Compassion employees are based. Communicates and acts as a liaison for employees, supervisors, insurance companies, and claim handlers. Updates program documents and posting notices as required by OSHA.
    • Supports a team member in the implementation of new benefit plans and programs, aiding in communication with all stakeholders.
    • Performs components of annual and open enrollment for Compassion's benefit plans and programs, including medical, vision, dental, spending accounts, and wellness.
    • Assists with collecting information such as experience data for benefits surveys, third party audits, compliance testing, government filings or contract renewals, and HR dashboards or business intelligence tools.
    • Participates in benefits events and presentations such as new employee orientation and health fairs.
    • Provides electronic benefits information to be used for processes and projects such as monitoring, tracking, reconciliation, file feeds, and testing.
    • Maintains familiarity with vendor contracts and Summary Plan Documents to ensure they are up to date and the vendor and Compassion are in compliance.
    • May provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the benefits discipline.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline
