Position Summary: 
The Center Manager will work in partnership with the Clinical Director to provide leadership to the team and will be supported by administrative and clinical staff members on-site and in the organization’s Central Support team.

Practice Manager / Center Manager Role:

Promote and maintain a positive work environment and ensure that the team feels supported.  This includes maintaining effective working relations with the midwifery, nursing, staff, consulting physicians, other health professionals, families, and the public
Conduct regular staff meetings
Conduct ongoing staff evaluations
Follow-up and registering prospective clients
Ensure that clients needs are met throughout the day
Manage daily flow in center, including staff schedule and managing physical set up and clean-up of physical space, as needed
Manage bookkeeping, including ensuring that charges are correctly entered into our billing systems
Ensure that the facility stays well organized including overseeing all housekeeping and maintenance 
As needed, answer telephones (answer questions, register clients, make appointments, convey messages to CNM, APN or RN, locate CNM on-call)
Participate in the production of the yearly budget
Regularly review profit and loss statement to ensure that the center stays on track with projected budget  
Interpret medical-legal responsibilities to staff as it relates to client confidences, record-keeping, and professional practice
Maintain regular chart review (all CNMs to participate)
Maintain personnel records 
Verify insurance coverage of obstetrical clients directly with the insurance company when each patient registers for care  
Re-verify claims through billing system at each appointment
Discuss financial arrangements with obstetrical clients and draw up and secure signature on financial plans with each client
Conduct financial planning sessions with clients as necessary to keep accounts and financial contracts current
Offer the services of the center to other agencies, groups, and facilities for speaking, exhibiting, and educating the public about nurse-midwifery and the birth center concept
Maintain liaison with other state and local groups to continually interpret nurse-midwifery and the needs of childbearing families in the Commonwealth
Identify and review problems that adversely affect quality of care
Perform or assign staff member to perform monthly facility safety rounds
Provide for regular equipment maintenance checks, supplies inventory, emergency supply checks, and take corrective action as needed
Conduct regular infection control activities and take corrective action as needed
Collaborate with Clinical Director on potential students for clinical experience at the center
Conduct and/or participate in student clinical experience in all areas of client care
Conduct or arrange student seminars. 
Introduce the concepts of midwifery and the birth center to various health professional students in the community, as needed

Background Profile:
Bachelors Degree from accredited university- Preferred
3-4 years experience managing an office or retail environment
Health care/clinical office management- Preferred
CPR certification-Preffered
Customer Service focused 
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Athena, Schedulicity, Maternity Neighborhood
Proven leadership abilities 
Strong verbal and written communication skills 
Detail oriented and comfortable working within prescribed processes 
Proactive problem solver
