Front Range Community College (FRCC) is the largest community college in Colorado, enrolling close to 28,000 credit students annually. FRCC was one of 30 colleges in the initial American Association of Community Colleges Pathways Project, was recently selected as a “Most Promising Place to Work” in Diverse Magazine, and was profiled as one of six top community colleges for transfer student success in a recent Aspen Institute publication. The college has developed a strong strategic plan focused on improving student graduation and transfer rates, has made significant investments in advising and other student support programs and has recently implemented EAB Navigate to assist students.

The Westminster Campus, located in the north Denver suburb of Westminster, is one of three FRCC campuses. In AY18, the Westminster Campus served more than 9,500 students (unduplicated headcount).

Who You Are

As a Dean of Student Affairs you will provide vision and leadership to the campus student affairs division to create and sustain a culture of inclusive excellence that promotes student success, retention, and completion using the college’s guided pathways model. In addition, you will serve as a key member of the campus leadership team and the college-wide student affairs council. As part of the college-wide student affairs team, you will work to develop and advance college-wide student success initiatives and to ensure that the college has generally consistent student services and practices across all campuses.

SALARY: Low to Mid $90's


  • Directs planning, development and management of services and programs in the Student Affairs Division in alignment with the College’s strategic plan and priority objectives. Champions the guided pathways framework and ensures that services and initiatives are designed to support students from connection to completion.
  • Oversees the planning and operations for departments within the division, including but not limited to Admissions and Outreach, Pathways Advising, Testing, Disability Support Services, Gateway to College, Student Life, Student CARE/Conduct, TRIO Student Support Services, and TRIO Upward Bound.
  • Serves as a member of the Campus Leadership Team and participates in campus and college-wide leadership initiatives. Works closely with campus instructional deans to coordinate scheduling, retention, and student support programs and activities.
  • Serves as a member of the college-wide Student Affairs Council, developing and following a consistent college-wide vision and approach to student services. Participates in college wide Student Affairs initiatives, including chairing or serving on assigned college-wide committees and task forces.
  • Works closely with the Associate Vice President of Student Support and Enrollment Services and college-wide departments, including the Registrar’s office, Student Communications, and Financial Aid.
  • Develops budgets, monitors expenditures, and reallocates resources as necessary.
  • Demonstrates and promotes inclusion, equity, and diversity to create and sustain an environment where students and employees are welcomed, valued, and affirmed.
  • Promotes a culture of assessment and conducts ongoing service and program evaluations. Utilizes data to make informed decisions about services and initiatives to promote student success, persistence, retention, and completion.
  • Serves as the campus Chief Student Affairs Officer (CSAO) including administering the college's Student Code of Conduct. Oversees all allegations and investigations of student misconduct, including supervising the campus Director of Student Success that serves as the CSAO designee regarding student conduct cases.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources regarding complaints and investigations involving discrimination and/or harassment based on the Civil Rights Grievance and Investigation Process.
  • Represents Front Range Community College with community organizations, business and industry, governmental agencies and K -12/post-secondary institutions to meet the needs of the College's services areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills


  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, Counseling, Educational Leadership or a closely related field.

Required Experience


  • Five to seven years of professional experience in higher education administration including staff supervision and project management.
  • Extensive knowledge of the area of student services, student development or student affairs, including Admissions, Advising, Student Life, TRIO, and Disability Services.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the higher education mission, organization, operations, policies and objectives in community colleges.
  • Knowledge of federal and state compliance requirements.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to analyze complex organizations and systems and implement change.


  • Experience working in a Colorado higher education/community college environment.
  • College-level teaching.
  • Bilingual
