Full-Time Patient Services Rep I

Great Opportunity for a Full-Time Patient Services Representative at our Lakewood locations.
The Patient Service Representative I performs administrative tasks such as answering phones, data entry, patient check in/out, and assists in scheduling patient appointments. Enters charges, verifies patients’ insurance coverage, received payments from patients and issues receipts. Provides spectacular service by doing what is necessary to take care of the patient (i.e. schedule them timely, schedule them at the first available appointment time regardless of center location, and providing accurate exam prep information).
Answers inbound calls to the Center.
Provides a friendly and warm greeting to all patients and/or providers.
Checks scheduled patients in/out and ensures proper documentation is received form patient.
Collects co-pays, co-insurance and deductible if necessary.
Works all scheduling queues in an efficient manner while meeting the goal of calling all new patients within 30 minutes. Schedules and confirms appointments.
Assists with the verification of insurance. Asks all screening questions completely to allow the HUB to obtain accurate insurance authorizations.
Ensures accurate data entry for patient registration.
Assists with medical records as needed.
Requests all patients complete a satisfaction survey after their exam.
Listens and resolves patient, provider and any customer complaints. Communicates to PSR Lead and/or Center Manager as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

This job operates in an outpatient clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.
No travel is expected for this position.
One plus year of experience providing exceptional customer service – healthcare environment preferred
Detail oriented, self-motivated, a problem solver and a team player
Ability to navigate multiple computer screens and browsers quickly and accurately
Ability to excel in a very fast-pace team environment
Ability to continuously “exceed” company and customer expectation
Strong communication skills & professional demeanor
- Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
