PositionSummary: This positionsupports the mission of North Suburban Medical Center, by optimizing thequality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focuson medical needs to the needs of the whole person.
The Medical Assistant II assists with patientexaminations and treatments, performs various tests, and maintains medicalequipment and supplies. Assesses needsof patients, must be able to distinguish between an emergency and non-emergencysituation and prioritize accordingly. Maintains a professional and workable relationship with providers. Documents all activities in the medicalrecord neatly and appropriately. Transfers to other sites may be necessary from time to time. When need arises, will perform other dutiesas assigned by supervisor.
*Position will start at approximately 20 hours per week, no weekends. An interest in eventually moving to part-time or full-time is preferred.
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: MA Certification required. LPN, EMT or sufficientprevious MA work experience. BLS required.
B. Education: Graduate ofaccredited Medical Assistance program
C. Experience: Previous wound care experience preferred. Good clerical and administrative skills. Ambulatory services/clinic experience desirable.
D. Special Qualifications: Knowledge ofsterile technique, patient teaching methods for all ages.
Degreeof supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Manager-Wound Care &Hyperbarics. Employee will be expectedto perform most job duties independently and in accordance with establisheddepartmental and hospital policies and procedures.
